I am wanting a little bit of advice if at all possible.
I am looking to buy an electric piano, and obviously have been trying to do
a little looking around and research. I would love to say that money wasn't
an object but i'm afraid it seems to be for everyone now and having two
children is never going to make that easier. However I haven't played for
over 20 years and still miss it so badly, and I truly believe it will be of
benefit to both me and the kids. I don't suppose I needed to tell you any
of that!! Ha ha!!
Anyway, I looked at the Yamaha YDP141 it obviously is one of the cheaper
ones whilst still getting raving reviews everywhere. It appears that you do
a good deal on it with a stool and headphones included, but am I right in
saying that it only comes in Rosewood and Light Cherry? I actually would
like a black one. Do they/you do them?
If not it looks as though I may have to go for the next model up being the
YDP161. I would also like the yamaha drum stool in black also. Do you do a
deal that brings the price down any, and also what is the main benefit
(apart from it being black ......how sad is that!) to going for the next
model up for the difference in money? Also, if I went ahead and ordered
would I be able to pick a delivery date (ideally next Monday 18th) as I
will be in and as much as I get on very well with my neighbour's I am not
entirely sure they would like that sort of packet being delivered!

Thanks for your email - no need to apologise, I'd get giddy buying something exciting too!
Unfortunately you're right in thinking the YDP141 only comes in Cherry or Rosewood!
The 161 has a few improvements over it's little brother; in brief
- Bigger, more powerful speakers
- More realistic keyboard response and feel
- 10 Different voices (4 more than the 141)
- 128 note polyphony - double that of the 141!
Essentially the improvement is in sound production and quality, as you've doubtless noticed the cabinet is the same!
You can specify a delivery date too (as long as it's not months away!) and we'll make sure it's only despatched to arrive on that date.

Thank you so much for your reply. Im still giddy! Sorry for the delay in
getting back to you, but I decided that before I made the exciting leap
into buying a piano I should actually see if it can in any way fit into my
house!!!
To be honest, I was going to find a way somehow.......its not the most
aesthetically pleasing outcome but oneway or another I have made a space.
The amount of pleasure we will get from it will far outway the fact that it
doesn't sit quite perfectly in a tailor made gap. The most important thing
is that where it is it is safe and won't be in a place where it could
possibly get knocked and banged with the massive foot fall of young people
and cricket bags and everything else that happens!!
Ok, sorry....I appear to be taking you down the whole process of me buying
this also customer service is good but I get the feeling that I may be
taking it too far!! Ha ha.
As you by now have probably realised..... I would really really like
one!! Just a couple more questions really....there is also a Yamaha
YDP161b.......is there any benefit to that one over the YDP161? Could you
please possibly give me prices for both model as package so with a Yamaha
Black stool and headphones also? I just need to try and work out the best
deal I can to try and make the finiancial pinch a little easier to bear,
then all being well I would very much like to order one and pay by credit
card and hope with fingers crossed that it can be delivered on Monday.

No problem - nothing like some last minute "Changing Rooms" style madness!
The YDP161B is the same model - the B just stands for Black! (There's a YDP161CE as well - you guessed it, that's cherry)
I can't move on the price of the package I'm afraid as it already contains free items but if you wanted to buy the piano individually I can do it for £768 including the VAT and delivery.
Delivery by Monday may be problematic - we sold our only black one this morning! Delivery for a new example will be 3-5 working days from Yamaha, so Monday next (25th) might be a little more likely.
