I am looking at buying a gig bag for my tenor trombone, so that I can cycle with my instrument. I have two questions regarding the ‘Tom and Will Tenor Trombone Gig Bag - Red and Grey’ (SKU:22TB-765): http://www.normans.co.uk/p-4160-tom-and-will-tenor-trombone-gig-bag-red-and-grey.aspx
- Would it accommodate a 8.5" bell?
- Would it be suitable for cycling? I appreciate that you cannot answer this for certain, but can you see any reason why it would not be? (I appreciate that the top of the bag may knock against a helmet.)

I have just been speaking to Tom & Will in connection with this matter and they can confirm that the gig bag would accommodate a bell up to 9.5" so you will be fine with that one. On the other point in regards to cycling, I cannot see any problem with this. The back-straps would of course be suitable but as you pointed out, the top of the bag may just knock against your helmet.
