Obviously your budget will play a part in this purchase so I will go through a few options we have with varying prices which will hopefully give you all the detail you need to make your decision.
You will also need consider the accessories that are needed with guitars i.e Amplifier / Leads / Bag / Strap etc. If you do not need such items then I would recommend the Rocket S-300. This is available in Blue, Red, Black, White and Sunburst. This guitar is an ideal choice if you are on a budget. Based on the Fender Stratocaster, it has a good feel to it and plays very nicely; customers are always impressed with what they get for the price.
The Fender Squier Bullet is a popular choice amongst beginners. This guitar branded by Fender has a really good feel about it and nice tone quality. This is available in Black, White, Red and Blue.
The Yamaha Pacifica is a bit more money than the 2 above but I feel that it would be worth spending that bit more. This guitar has 2 single coil pick-ups as well as one humbucker pick-up (more rock sounding). The Pacifica is a very well known beginner guitar that would last a beginner for a long time (potentially up to grade 5 standard). It has a very nice feel and sound and gets very good reviews from all customers.
