Hello,
I am looking for a drum kit for my 9 year old son. We have a full size kit at home, but he is too small to play it. It was also very expensive, so we’d rather him learn how to play on a cheaper kit. I have seen you have a Rocket Junior Drum Kit online: http://www.normans.co.uk/p-2027-rocket-tim-j-5-piece-junior-drum-kit-red.aspx , is this suitable for learning to play on or is it more of a toy?
Dave Peters.

Dear Dave,
Thank you for your email. The Rocket Junior Drum Kit would be ideal for your son. It is a great starter kit and is very hardwearing. As for the question about it being a toy – It isn't. This kit is an exact replica of the full size model (http://www.normans.co.uk/p-2025-rocket-5-piece-rock-22in-drum-kit-wine-red.aspx), just scaled down to suit younger players. It also comes complete with everything that you need to get playing including drum sticks and throne.
This drum kit comes in two colours:
Black: http://www.normans.co.uk/p-2028-rocket-tim-j-5-piece-junior-drum-kit-black.aspx
Red: http://www.normans.co.uk/p-2027-rocket-tim-j-5-piece-junior-drum-kit-red.aspx
There are some really informative reviews on our website of these drum kits, which I would recommend reading to help inform your decision.
If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind Regards
Anna Martin
