Upgraded models of the perennial 141 and 161 units, these new pianos have been augmented and upgraded with the latest Yamaha technology that was previously only available on the more expensive pianos.

The upgrade starts with a brand new cabinet design for the 162. Sleek and Stylish, it now looks as well as sounds professional. Both instruments have a new weighted keyboard which includes synthetic ivory keytops (YDP162 only), so now it even feels like a real piano.

Both the 142 and 162 also benefit from the upgrade from the normal AWM sampled sounds to the new "Pure CF Sound Engine" which was previously only available on the Clavinova range.

Coupled with this, they also boast new realism features in the Intelligent Acoustic Control (IAC) which adjusts the EQ and other settings to give a resonant bass and clear trebles at any volume, and the Damper Resonance which mimics the sound of real piano strings when the sustain pedal is used. Yamaha's new Acoustic Optimizer measures the distances from the player and surrounding walls or other objects to tailor the sound and output of the speakers, which means they will sound at their best in any environment.

In short, the technology upgrade to what were popular units anyway has cemented the Arius range as one of the market leaders for sound quality and instrument realism. They're perfect instruments for the musically curious, ambitious beginner or even the advanced musician - all at a breakthrough price!

These really are the latest designs for 2013 - Why not have a look now?
