A cornet of excellence, designed and developed without compromise.
The new Neo cornet range provides a greater breadth of tone and expressive emotion in an enriched sound world. The use of gold brass for the lead-pipe, connection tube and main tuning slide give these new cornets a rich, flexible sound and excellent response in the higher register. Developed with 3 of the brass band world's most successful cornet players and conductors and tested 'incognito' by the Brighouse and Rastrick Band for some time, these highly expressive cornets bring new musical possibilities to both solo and band performances.
Gold brass has been newly adopted to a part of the tube leading from the leadpipe to the valves, delivering a depth of sound and a richness in tonal variety that are required for British brass bands. This is achieved by adding more copper to the other metals to create the Alloy, which helps to create the more mellow, smooth sound that brass bands are calling for - a shift back to more traditional sounds after the power and brilliance of the Xeno cornets.
Available in Yellow Brass, which offers a hint of the Brilliant sound associated with the Xeno, or a full Gold Brass version which gives a darker, more sombre tone, both examples are then silver plated. This means they not only sound fantastic but look amazing as well as having a much easier finish to maintain as silver plate is much longer lasting than lacquer.
The effect is then completed with the professional styled case emblazoned with the Yamaha Neo logo - just so everyone else is left in no doubt what you're carrying!
