Hi,
I recently purchased a Buffet E13 from yourselves - I'm really pleased with it, but I've noticed that it can be quite stiff when putting together or taking apart, and I'm frightened of damaging it! Is this normal?
Yours,
Roxanne

Hi Roxanne,
Brand new clarinets are famous for having tight corks. From the manufacturers point of view it's better to have too much than too little, or you'll have air leaks and find it difficult to play!
The best advice is to try using some Cork Grease. This helps the different parts slide together and will in all likelihood solve your problems.
In extreme cases it may be necessary to have a small amount of the cork taken down. In this instance we have a full time repairer who will be more than happy to look at it for you, but I'd try the cork grease first.
