Hi there,

I came across your website & wanted to find out which of the portable keyboards are fully weighted & I have a budget of less than £200.

Many thanks for your help.

With kind regards.
Natasha

Good morning Natasha,

Thanks for your email.

Keyboards that are weighted, in other words those with keys that are heavier to press (so as to feel like a real piano), are usually 88-note keyboards that are actually in the digital piano category. All of the digital pianos we sell have weighted keys, and are full piano size, i.e. 88-notes.

The lowest priced digital piano we sell is the Axus AXS2. This has weighted, hammer-action keys, as well as many other features. This is priced at £299.99 - please see the following:

Although this is over your budget, I would definitely recommend a digital piano to any serious pianist/keyboardist, and the Axus AXS2 is very competitively priced for this kind of keyboard.

If you still want to go with a portable keyboard, then unfortunately weighted keys aren't an option, however many of the portable keyboards we sell have "touch sensitivity" - this means that the harder or softer you press the key, the louder/quieter the resulting sound is. This is a feature that many beginners and first time buyers look for.

The lowest priced touch sensitive keyboard that we sell is an Axus again - the AXP2. Please see:

Another option within your £200 budget would be the Casio CTK-3200:

Or the Yamaha PSRE343:

http://www.normans.co.uk/p-5138-yamaha-psre343-electronic-keyboard.aspx

All of these keyboards have touch sensitivity, have 61-notes, and are within your budget.

In summary - there are a few touch sensitive keyboards available for under £200, but if your budget can be stretched, I would suggest the fully weighted Axus AXS2. Besides a whole range of other features, with the Axus you will benefit from a full size 88-note keyboard, so it will serve you for a long time as the player progresses musically!

I hope this has been of some help - please let me know if you want any further advice, or would like to place an order. You can ask for me on 01283 535 333.

I look forward to your response. Thanks,

Kind regards,
