Dear Sir/Madam,

I'm looking for a Cuckoo Whistle that plays G - E 4.

I've seen on your website that you have one called Acme Cuckoo Whistle (SKU:PP158/8). According to your website this whistle has variable pitch. What does that mean?

Could you also confirm to me whether the mentioned whistle plays approximately G - E or not?

I hope you can help me with that.

With all best wishes,

Marta

Dear Marta,

I have just popped to our warehouse to take a look at one of these whistles.

They do NOT actually play all the notes between G and E - i.e. G, A, B, C, D, E...

If you blow into the whistle naturally, it plays a G note. There is a single finger hole at the top of the whistle. If you cover the hole whilst playing, this note goes up to E.

This way, by placing your finger on and off this hole you can change between these two notes as you wish - I imagine this is what is meant by "variable pitch".

I hope you have found this to me helpful - please let me know if you need anything else, or if you would like to place an order.

Thanks,

Kind regards,
