Hi All,

DPD have just issued a new price list for Normans which will be valid for the next 12 months. The prices have only increased marginally but thought it a good opportunity to refresh your understanding of the various services they offer and costs to different destinations.

I have attached 3 pdf's for you to look through (might be a good idea to copy to your desktop for easy reference) which cover Domestic, Classic (Europe by Road) and Returns. Please familiarise yourselves with these, I have included the fuel surcharge of 3.2% that we have to pay so you can be confident that this is the exact amount we will be charged in total for shipping through DPD. Prices are excluding vat which will need to be added when quoting customers.

A couple of things to note:

**Domestic**

We are given a Parcel rate but for England, Wales & Scotland but have a minimum consignment charge applied, so please make sure you check this. For example, a standard next day to England is £3.13 per parcel but a minimum consignment charge of £5.31. Therefore, 1 x parcel costs us £5.31 but we can send 2 for £6.26. To Northern Ireland there is no minimum consignment charge so we simply pay £11.28 per parcel, so 2 parcels are £22.56 etc. I have not included the Congestion surcharge which is applied to deliveries into Central London.

**Classic Europe**

The charge for European deliveries is always per parcel with no minimum consignment charge. Please note the Customs Clearance Charge applicable to Bosnia, Iceland, Norway, Serbia & Switzerland which I was unaware of. This is a £25.00 surcharge per consignment that we have to pay to cover customs admin when the goods leave the UK and as you can see is significant as a proportion of the overall cost. Make sure this is built in when quoting for delivery to those countries.

**Returns**

There is a new service called Homecall Return which we access through DPD but utilises the Hermes network of over 3,000 parcel shops. This is a cheap way for smaller but more valuable items to be returned to us and is fully trackable unlike the Royal Mail Freepost service. It is also worth noting that if we arrange a standard DPD collection and the customer is out/an item is not available for collection we will still be charged £8.26, please therefore do your utmost to ensure the collection takes places successfully.

Hope that clarifies the DPD situation but if you do have any questions regarding their services or pricing then please talk to Hazel.

Thanks

Andy
